When I was younger, my Mom was always tending our home. Cooking, washing our clothes, cleaning, preparing meals, painting, re-upholstering our chairs, making bathroom towels and on and on. I always wondered why she did all of those things and why she loved to clean so much especially since cleaning was the last thing I wanted to do when I was younger. But later into my life, I realized that she was pouring her love into our house and creating a beautiful little “nest” for us to live in, be held by and be nurtured within. She was making, holding and tending HOME.

In our fast paced, modern day society, those gifts that my Mom poured forth into our home when I was young seem to be something of a glimmer of the past. Many people often do not ‘have time’ to create or tend a Home, and now there are technological things that can take some of the “burden” off of having to be responsible for those pieces. But, what is lost in this?

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that I LOVE to clean, I LOVE to wash the dishes by hand and re-arrange our space, water our plants and fold our clothes. I LOVE doing simple things like knitting and sewing and putting my hands in the dirt. It’s taken a lot to come to this place for myself. Probably about 26 years of continuous transformation and deep inner work. In a culture that tells us that these simple things are not important or hold value, it’s a lot to move thru to reclaim the simple essence of living.

Do you feel like your space is a living sanctuary that inspires feelings of love, connection, joy, deep nourishment and play? Or does your space feel like it’s missing something; is it just a space you exist in and get by in day by day?

Your space doesn’t have to be fancy for it to feel fulfilling to your body, heart, mind, soul and spirit. It can be, but it really doesn’t need to be. A space with flow, organization, function and beauty…simple yet profound and sacred, comprised of the spirit of you and what you truly love, that you can freely and simply function within, is what creates the energy of satisfaction and nourishing fulfillment in your ”home”. And that foundation, enhances the quality of you and your family’s life not just in your home, but in all areas of your life.

Through Handmade Spaces, we can create this foundation together of HOME and return to the simple, grounded beauty that life is. The roots of Home that we create together, will be something that will live within you and blossom wherever you are.

  • "Working with Rebecca was a beautiful experience. Her calm, warm demeanor as she met with me to plan and discuss what to do with my place was so helpful and calming. Her meticulous attention to detail and exceptional painting skills transformed my space from a bland, hodgepodge of painting ideas into a beautiful, welcoming, peaceful abode. She took on the challenges of painting high ceilings with challenging corners, coming up with industrious solutions to the make the job easier. What was most significant, though, was the change in energy in my home. It was lighter, more relaxed and almost as if it no longer allowed stress or negativity to enter. Before she painted she had me write intentions on the walls for how I wanted each room to feel. Most importantly, Rebecca brought a warm, loving and positive energy to the project, making the entire experience enjoyable and stress free. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking to enhance their home with elegance and care."
