• Office/Guest Bedroom/Play Room Organization

This project was part of a three room project; each area affected another. I began by transforming a little boy’s bedroom into an organized magical haven by moving his bed to a different part of the room and creating little areas within his room for different functions: a reading/hang out area, a lego area, a sleeping/dresser area, an art area and a quiet space/hang out area. This project affected two other areas on the main level of the home, this Office/Guest Bedroom/Play Room and the hallway outside of this room. I created an organization solution for the boy’s toys in the hallway and then created this area in the multi-function bedroom. By re-purposing a storage unit from the office part of this room, I was able to organize all of the boy’s different types of toys in this area of the room and create a defined space for guests when they come to stay. Because the toys have a home that is easy and functional, they are easy to pick up and put away and return this area to looking like this everyday.

  • Play and Nap Room Closet

This project was part of a full room transformation for a play/nap room. Clothes and toys were organized in the closet so that the caregiver for the children can have easy access to extra clothes for the children if needed and so extra toys can have a home and be switched out to accommodate the children’s learning, interests and needs.

For this project, the caregiver had already gone through most of the items that no longer served a purpose for the children. When I arrived she shared her needs for the room and we talked about the closet being dedicated to storage specifically for this room. We found new homes for the items that didn’t apply to the new function for the closet and then I “went to town” transforming the room and putting the closet together.
